The intent with the series of magazine covers and nameplates was to create a publication that is both visually interesting as well as recognizable regardless of context. 

CAPTURE Magazine is a fictional publication that focuses on both professional and amateur photographers.  The images taken for the covers are original content and not stock imagery.

The consistency within the nameplate and its interaction with the image itself is the tie that keeps the brand consistent in a variety of different ways.
